My Own Dict takes your privacy seriously. To better protect your privacy, we provide this privacy policy notice explaining the way your personal information is collected and used.
This app tracks basic information about its users. This information includes, but is not limited to, IP addresses, device and browser details, timestamps, and pages visited within the app. None of this information can personally identify a specific user on its own. The information is tracked for routine administration and maintenance purposes.
When you create an account, we collect the information you provide directly: your email address, first name, and last name. Your password is handled by our authentication provider, Supabase, and is never stored or seen by us in plain text.
As you use the app, we also store the data you generate: dictionary entries, saved words, flashcard progress, test results, and related statistics. This data is used solely to provide and improve the app's core features for you.
Where necessary, this app uses your browser's local storage to store information about your preferences and session in order to keep you signed in and better serve you. This may include, at your choice, remembering your login credentials on your own device (the "Remember me" option). This data stays on your device and is not accessible to us.
This app does not display advertisements and does not use third-party trackers, scripts, or web beacons for advertising purposes.
We may include links on this app for your use and reference. We are not responsible for the privacy policies of these third-party websites. You should be aware that their privacy policies may differ from our own.
The security of your personal information is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means (including our infrastructure provider, Supabase) to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
This Privacy Policy is effective as of July 11, 2026 and will remain in effect except with respect to any changes in its provisions in the future, which will be in effect immediately after being posted on this page.
We reserve the right to update or change our Privacy Policy at any time, and you should check this Privacy Policy periodically. If we make any material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you either through the email address you have provided us, or by placing a prominent notice within the app.
